Imaginary Friends was wheatonIMPROV's longest running performance troupe, excelling at both short-form and long-form improvisational structures. The troupe was founded in September 2004, and immediately gained popularity. Directed by Mr Brendon Culhane, the troupe delighted audiences and frequently sold out shows until it disbanded in Spring 2007, when most of its members graduated.

Imaginary Friends had a fluctuating roster that centered around seven core players who were in the troupe from its start in the ’04-’05 school year until it disbanded:

JV Andres
Derek Biukema
Brandon Cheney
Amelia Crabtree
Brendon Culhane
Stephen Hampton
Bryan Rudolph

In addition, several other players joined Imaginary Friends for brief and lengthy tenures, some going on to found other wheatonIMPROV troupes:

Kevin McLenithan, (Sep 04 - May 05)
Amy Taetzsch, (Sep 04 – May 05)
Ben Holmes, (Sep 04 - Dec 06)
Amy Foote, (Sep 05 - May 06)
Jeff Arterburn, (Sep 05 - Jan 07)
Luke Brewster, (Sep 05 - Jan 07)
Alyssa Keysor, (Jan 06 – Mar 06)
Nick Venarchik (Jan 06 – Mar 06)
Hayley Darden (Jan 06 – Mar 06)
