Third Wheel was formed in March 2006 as a secondary performance troupe to supplement Imaginary Friends.  Its founding members were three former Imaginary Friends—Hayley Darden, Alyssa Keysor, and Nick Venarchik—as  well as three new club members—Rachel Alsdorf, Amy Jensen, and Jaryd Tookmanian.

Perenially awkward, and dripping with sexual tension, Third Wheel provided a hip and attractive alternative to the already well-established Imaginary Friends. The troupe swelled to 10, and then 12, and performed several intimate and popular shows in the Billy Graham Center Underground during the Fall 2006 semester.  However, Third Wheel disbanded for Christmas as several troupe members left the club or the college.  The new awkward became the old awkward and six former Third Wheelers went on to found Faux Posse. 

However brief its existence, Third Wheel proved for the first time that wheatonIMPROV is quite capable of improv outside of Imaginary Friends, thank you very much.  All in all, Third Wheel had 13 very attractive members:
